Sir,
One of my friends was working in a company, and the company paid both sides' shares of PF on behalf of him. However, the company did not provide a PF number and other details. Now that he has left the job, he wants to receive the PF money in his account. How can he obtain the PF amount?
Please reply soon.

The EPF account is maintained by the Regional Provident Fund Commissioner (RPFC). The employer is supposed to have deposited both shares of contribution to the RPFC. Therefore, please contact the concerned RPFC and make a complaint to him that though the employer had deducted the EPF contribution money from the salary, he has not provided the account number. He will assist in having the employer settle your grievance.

Dear Mr. JAFARAHEMAD,
As you have mentioned that the company didn't provide the PF No. to your friend, but they didn't deny it. Just send them a proper request letter through speed post for filling his/her EPF withdrawal form along with a Blank Form 10C (if services are more than 6 months) & 19 and along with the self-attested Bank A/C proof.
If the company denies that and your friend had worked for that company after March 2012, then first ask him/her to verify if the contribution was actually made or not. Simply visit Epfo (Govt. of India) and click on "Establishment Search." From there, you can check the company name, code, and contribution details.
The department is now providing the details of monthly contributions and even the names of the employees whose contributions are filed. If the contribution is made, then the A/C details can be obtained from the concerned EPF Dept. through RTI.

Thank you for providing these important details.
I have encountered another issue. I submitted my PF form for a claim, but the PF department has sent me a letter stating that it has been rejected. The reason cited is that the company did not file the 12A (Yearly Return) and there were errors in the name, address, age, etc., at the time when the company obtained the PF number. What should be my next course of action? Your guidance on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Awaiting your valuable response.
Best regards,

It is the responsibility of your company to file the returns promptly and indicate details regarding your name, etc., correctly. Please ask them to do so. If they fail to do so within a reasonable time, you can complain to the Regional Provident Fund Commissioner concerned.

Thank you. Till now, I have claimed twice and both times it has been rejected. The PF consultant and the company don't take interest in my case. I am sending emails regularly to follow up, but it seems ineffective. Now, how can I get my PF without their help? I am currently employed and don't have much time to spend behind this issue. Additionally, I have not received my Yearly Statement from the PF department this year. Last year, I received it without any problem.
Seniors, please advise me.
Thank you,

If you received the EPF statement for last year, does it show your name correctly? If so, you can note the EPF Account number mentioned in the statement and request the concerned RPFC to coordinate with the establishment to rectify any errors present. It is essential to engage directly with the RPFC for resolution. Avoid relying on your company or a consultant for this matter. All correspondence should be sent via registered post to maintain proper documentation. Communicating through email with government offices is not effective.

Dear Mr. JAFARAHEMAD,
Bpugazhendhi is right. I already informed you earlier to use only speed-post/registered post. As you have mentioned that you already received the yearly statement for the last year, please check your name on it. If it is incorrect, kindly write a letter to the management requesting a correction in the name. Attach a copy of the EPF slip and one of your ID proofs with the correct name, except for the PAN Card. Also, please CC that letter to the Regional EPF Commissioner. This additional step will exert more pressure on the management.
Additionally, you can review your EPF Account and Balance details on the Member Portal here after completing the registration process.
I would appreciate it if you could provide me with a scanned copy of the rejection letter from EPFO, where the company is cited for not filing the 12 A (Yearly Return) and for making mistakes in name, address, age, etc. Please email it to me.
I am willing to assist you in this matter.
