Dear All,

I received some photographs from one of my contacts on the improvement made in Gas Cylinders Delivery van. A hydraulic platform is provided to ensure the safe handling of the cylinders. The same are being uploaded here.

Thanks & Regards,
Sudhir

Dear Sir,

I appreciate your innovative idea and would be interested in presenting a proposal to my management for implementing it in our plant. Could you please provide me with more details regarding the same?

If possible, could you arrange to send me a five-minute video demonstrating how the entire loading and unloading process can be achieved with this hydraulic arrangement? It would be very helpful for better understanding.

Please let me know.

Thank you.

Dear Dipil, Sheshu Babu,

The photos I have received are out of contact. I shall try to locate the originator. This is a hydraulic platform. If you show the pics to anyone manufacturing hydraulic systems, he should be able to design a similar one.

Thanks & Regards,
Sudhir

Dear Sudhir Sir,

We work at a coal-based thermal power station, where Hydrogen gas cylinders (Highly Explosive) and Anhydrous Ammonia cylinders (Highly Toxic) are used in various processes. The loading and unloading of these cylinders pose a common and major challenge in many industries. Despite our efforts to enhance the cylinder lifting mechanisms, we have not achieved significant improvements.

The innovative methods you shared through the pictures are truly inspiring, and we believe that this approach could help us persuade our management to adopt safer practices for gas cylinder loading and unloading mechanisms. If possible, could you please provide us with the technical specifications or more details regarding the lifting platform mechanism?

We eagerly await your prompt response on this matter.

One alternative we have for loading filled cylinders is to have a pit where the truck is parked so that the cylinder storage area and the truck's carriage are at the same level. Since this cemented level will not have any moving parts, there will be no maintenance and no breakdown of the hydraulic platform when needed the most. For unloading at the site, a wooden ramp with an old discarded tire at the bottom of the ramp is sufficient. Hope you can try it.

Dear all,

This was all about loading and unloading of cylinders. We also need to take precautions while handling cylinders on-site, especially for welding and cutting purposes. We have modified our trolleys for carrying cylinders; they are now equipped with fire extinguishers and a tool box.
