The definition of "employee" is very wide in the EPF Act and includes contractual workers who are engaged for work in or in connection with the establishment. Since these guards are performing security duties, provident fund will be applicable.

However, the project details can only be shared after they join our company. The date of joining would be sometime after Pongal, and the exact date is yet to be decided.
