Hi,

Any policy consists of 5 major parts, namely:

1) Purpose
2) Scope
3) Definition/Meaning
4) Responsibilities & Authorities
5) Description

You may design the policy according to your organizational needs. For reference, I hereby attach our policy. Please go through it.

Normally, I design an H&S or HSE policy with 3 parts:

1. The first section is a commitment from the CEO on behalf of the company indicating the principle(s) that are being adopted as far as H&S or HSE is concerned within the controls of the company's operations.

2. The next section lists out this commitment and principle(s) are going to be achieved. These are basically the objectives that the organization is planning to achieve. Strategies are then developed to meet these objectives and translated into action plans.

3. The final section lists out who is responsible to achieve the objectives, thus fulfilling the commitment stated in the first section.

The policy is always signed off by the incumbent CEO and reissued whenever the CEO is changed. Hope it helps. I am attaching a sample from another company.

Dear Akhil,

Before preparing any policy, you need to analyze whether it will suit your organization and be accepted by your employees. Your policy should cover four major areas:

1. Plan
2. Do
3. Check
4. Management Review

I hope this information will help you.

Shaikh

Respected all members,

I recently joined a food manufacturing factory as an HR professional. In our factory, more than 300 workers are employed, with the majority being girls or women. I would like to understand the rules concerning the women's safety committee and if there are any related forms available. Additionally, I would appreciate information on the laws and forms related to women's harassment.

Please guide me on the above issues and assist me in addressing them.

Thank you.
