Hi,
I am working for an IT firm in Mumbai, and our salary structure is mentioned as below:
- Fresher: 10k
- 6 months: 12-15k
- 1 year: 15-20k
- 2 years: 20-25k
The above structure does not include incentives, which are paid based on performance. We are in the process of revising our salary structure by the end of this year and would like some suggestions on the same.

Hi,
The incentive structure comprises an individual performance incentive as well as a team incentive. It generally depends on the salary a person is drawing, and then the target would be 7 times his/her salary. For example, if A draws 10k, his target would be 70k per month and 210k per quarter.
Incentives are given percentage-wise, i.e., if A achieves his target, he would be eligible for an incentive, and the amount would be calculated at 6%. So, he would get an approximate amount of 12k. This is basically how the incentive structure works.
Any other information needed, I am always here to help.

Hi Paras,
You are getting a really good package. However, you didn't mention what kind of requirements you normally have. How do you calculate on every placement? What kind of targets do you set up?
Looking forward to your reply.

Hi Vrushali,
Thanks for your queries.
What kind of requirements do we normally handle?
We specialize in middle and senior level requirements in the IT, BFSI, Engineering, and Telecom divisions.
How do we calculate on every placement?
On every placement, we have a percentage that generally depends on the years of experience; it could range anywhere between 10% to 16.6%.
What kind of target do we set up?
As mentioned earlier, targets are set at 7 times the salary a recruiter is drawing.
I hope I have addressed most of your queries. If you have any further questions, please feel free to email me.

Hi Paras,
Thank you for the reply. I would like to know more about the target aspect. Could you please clarify whether it depends on how many candidates you have placed, or if it involves considering any specific amount? If possible, kindly provide me with a detailed explanation.
Thank you for your cooperation.

Hi Vrushali,
The targets are determined on a quarterly basis, and it depends on the amount. For example, a consultant drawing a salary of 10k would have their quarterly target set at 210k. If this target is achieved, the incentive would be 6% of the target achieved. Therefore, the target is determined by the amount and not by the candidates placed.
I hope I have addressed your queries. If you need to know anything else, please email me at parasmehta99@gmail.com.

Hi, I'm a little confused here!
Suppose the salary is 10k and the target achieved is 210k. The incentive is 6%. Do you mean to say that the total salary the recruiter earns will be 10k + 12k? Or just 12k approximately? Are the targets easily achievable?
I got a job in a consultancy firm where the target is 10 times the salary. Is it achievable? I haven't joined yet. Please help.
They are offering me 6500. So, how much will I get in hand in this case? Should I negotiate and ask for 10k in Calcutta? Please help. I have to join next month!

Hi all,
I have 1.4 years of experience solely in IT recruitment. I have mostly worked on middle-level and senior positions, and within this timeframe, I have successfully closed 30 positions. Currently, I am employed at a consultancy in Pune but am now seeking a job change. Could anyone provide insights on the expected salary range from an IT company?
Thank you.
