Hi,

Currently working in an ITES company, where we have only 10 ELs that can be availed after completing the probation period. Could you please guide me on whether there is a leave policy that includes 6 ELs and 6 CLs that can be availed even during the probation period?

Thanks & Regards,

Dear All,

Can anybody tell me if Casual Leave and Sick Leave are mandated by law or simply a practice? If there is a law, then what are the number of leaves to be provided? Is there any provision regarding Festival Holidays? Kindly respond.

Thank you,

Dear Sir,

Is it compulsory to be granted Casual Leave (CL) within a year? If so, could you please provide the official Government Order (G.O) related to this? I am seeking clarification on this matter because previously our company had granted CL, but now they have stopped and state that it is at the discretion of management.

Kindly provide me with clear details on this issue.

Dear All,

This is Gokul here. As per the S&E Act, casual leave is 12 days and sick leave is 12 days from the date of joining for an employee. An employee is eligible for earned leave after completing 240 days (i.e., 1 day of leave for every 20 working days). The above-mentioned structure is followed in Tamil Nadu. If there are any changes to this, please provide suggestions.

Hi senior,

Please help me understand the number of leaves, including EL, CL, and SL, one can get in a year. Ours is a private limited company, and recently, we have started a 5-day week. Our boss has asked to reduce the ELs (earlier 18 days and 6 days of Sick leave) to a maximum of 18 days. If we have to give 18 days in a year, how should be the breakup? Give the statutory number of days for each category as defined in the AP Shops and Establishment Act and labor laws.

Hi,

This is Riyas from Chennai, and I have been working for a domestic BPO in Chennai. Even my team leader asked me to work while I was seeking. I came to the office when I was suffering from fever, and he granted me leave in the afternoon. From the next day, I have been suffering from fever.

Guys,

If an employee has not taken annual leave, the HR department must issue a memo to all employees who have annual leave but do not wish to use it. However, as per company policies, they must take annual leave.

Please provide the best letter for the above matter.
