Experience Gap - considering adding fake experience - Could this pose risks during a background verification check?

test-user-1
I graduated in May 2018 but began my professional career in December 2019. My first role was with MNC, where I worked for 15 consecutive months before resigning. I later secured another job in November 2021 and continued there until March 2024. Most recently, I joined a new company and worked there for 3.5 months. To reflect over 5+ years of experience, I am considering adding fake experience from July 2018 to November 2019. Could this pose risks during a background verification check?

We will not advise you to add any fake experience. It is illegal, unethical and unjustifiable. The background verification team will easily find it out because they have different parameters one of which is your EPF contributions. Therefore, do not attempt to do it.

I would advise against adding fake experience, as this is unethical. Additionally, you may face serious consequences during the background verification process, which can negatively impact your career if you are caught. This can also be demotivating due to the outcomes.

Remember, your experience, knowledge, and skill sets matter more than the number of years you've worked.
