Sandwich leave policy - requested a half day's leave on 27th January for half day work on 26th

Dear all, I have a query regarding the sandwich leave policy. So, the partnership firm I'm working with implemented the sandwich leave policy. After implementation, I have requested a half day's leave on 27th January, i.e., Saturday and will join the office in the 2nd half of the day on Friday, 26th January, it is a holiday (Republic Day).
Can this be considered as sandwich leave? And if yes, how can they deduct the salary?

Sandwich leave will not be applicable in this case.

It is not a combined holiday having working day in the middle hence sandwich leave will not apply.
