Hi,

How long you have been undergoing training with them. Does the training involve cost factor like software license fee/ services of specialized Trainer hired etc... If you are in the initial stages of training period say 6 months ranges then you can negotiate with your employer about your inability to continue on higher studies grounds and request for relieving with extended notice period. If you are in the mid course of training say more than 1.5 yrs or so then you need to strongly negotiate with your employer for proper relieving with extended notice and also forfeiture of full and final settlement to a maximum.

When you have plan for higher studies you shouldn't have signed the bond. Most of the employers will have some way out process for Trainees say more notice period or 2 months pay etc. So talk to your HR and find out.

Since you have worked partly out of the 33 months committed by you, they cannot claim the full money and can have only a claim which is reduced in proportion. You may pursue it accordingly. So also an organisation can only claim for the training given to you, so the training expenses as apportioned to you can only be claimed. Any extra expenses claimed is not legal and proper.
