Non-regular attendance of a worker - management decided not to deduct his PF and ESIC for running month

Maulin Suthar
Due to the irregular attendance of a worker, the management decided not to deduct his PF and ESIC for the current month. My HR manager suggested that I show him as "on leave" in ESIC, but I am unsure about the ethical implications of this. Additionally, what should be done about his PF contribution? Please guide me in this case.

Hi, PF / ESI once deducted needs to be continued and can't be withheld for any reasons. However, for irregular attendance, you can mark LOP for non-working days so that PF/ESI contribution goes only for the actual working days.

Thank you, sir.

Also, I want to ask for a suggestion. An employee was registered in June 2022, and our old HR executive forgot to include him in the PF and ESIC monthly contributions. After him, I joined the company and found this mistake. What should I do?

Note: His PF and ESIC were not deducted from his salary. Can I continue his contributions starting from this August?

Hi,

You have the option of paying arrears from the actual joining date.
