Can weekly off be suffixed to Sick Leave or it will be counted as part of sick leave?

Hi, I have one query. Can a weekly off be added to Sick Leave, or will it be considered a part of sick leave? For example, if a staff member takes sick leave from Thursday to Saturday, and Sunday is their designated day off, will Sunday be counted as sick leave? Any reference to this issue would be greatly appreciated.

When there is sick leave, an employee can resume duty only with a fitness certificate. If the fitness is effective from Saturday evening, then the weekly off is allowed. Otherwise, if the fitness is effective from Sunday evening or Monday morning, Sunday will be included in the sick leave.

In your specific query - 'Example staff takes sick leave Thursday to Saturday and Sunday is his day off. Will Sunday be counted as sick leave.'

The answer is NO. Sunday shall be considered as only a weekly-off.

In the normal case, and as a general practice seen in many companies, sick leave for more than 2 days needs to be substantiated with a medical fitness certificate by a recognized medical practitioner. At the time of joining, he/she needs to submit a fitness certificate.
