Whether the engagement activities really engage the employees to the organisation, and if engaged, then is it a shallow one is a moot point. Nevertheless, in the 21st century, where gender equality is professed in all walks of life, will it not be sanctimonious to create special events for the day for a particular gender?
Marketers prefer the celebration of this or that day because it helps them sell their products. Nevertheless, should modern women, who have broken many glass ceilings, see through their game and say "No" to the rigmarole of the allocation of a day for them? What has been achieved in the past women's days which were laced with the pomp and puffed vanity?
Of course, these are my personal views.
