I need an opinion regarding an old and hardworking employee who has been with the company for more than 10 years. For the past few years, he has been unwell due to some health issues, specifically dealing with intestine problems that are not in a state to recover.
As a company, we have supported him in all aspects - financially, morally, job security, and made leave adjustments for a long time. We even manage his work hours from home. However, the management is now asking to make a final decision as this situation cannot be sustained for more than 5 years. There are limitations in each segment that need to be considered to settle this situation, especially since he is the sole source of income for his family.
In the future, he will require financial support for medical assistance. On humanitarian grounds, we have acted in his favor and continue to do so, but this cannot continue indefinitely.
