Employees are either daily rated or monthly rated. In the case of a daily-rated employee, the weekly off is usually unpaid, whereas for a monthly-rated employee, the weekly off is paid.
In the instant case, if an employee of either category is found to be unauthorizedly absent and treated as such after their explanation is deemed unacceptable, then the entire period of 20 days is unpaid. However, if the said employee is granted leave, then, in that case, their weekly off is payable if they are monthly rated. For daily-rated employees, barring the days of leave, weekly off days are not payable.
