Yes, there are standard in-basket exercises. However, generally, these are customised according to the requirement. Devising in-basket exercise requires an in-depth understanding of the job performed at that company.
You may use the standard in-basket exercises however, you may not be able to assess the required competency. This is because the job candidate may misunderstand and perform the task wrongly.

I was looking for an In-basket exercise sample for one of my academic theses. I am enrolled at XLRI Jamshedpur; this is not for organizational competency mapping.

Yes, you are right, we have to create exercises as per our organization's needs and people's competency map.
