Dear Friend,
Form 16 is the form issued by employer to employee about the income earned by employee and tax deducted if any in the respective financial year. you have to submit a copy of this while filing your returns. whereas form16 a is been given to professionals like consultants and even firms working for another firm.

What is Form 16 ?
As you all know it is most important form and regularly used by us. It is a certificate issued to you by your employer stating the details of the salary you have earned and the tax deducted on your behalf and paid to the government
If you are an employee of the company (which means you are on the company's payroll), you should receive your Form 16 by April 30 every year.

Form 16A is the TDS Certificate which every person deducting tax has to provide to the deductee for every month or for a year.

Hi,
Form 16 A is for non- salaried people. As salaried guys get Form 16 stating their TDS deduction, non-salaried guys get form 16A stating their TDS deduction

What is form 16A?
Form 16A is the TDS Certificate, which every person deducting tax has to provide to the deductee for every month or for a year.
Form 16A is given by the employer to every permanent employee. This form states the salary and all other perquisites earned by you during the year. This form is issued even if no tax is deducted by your employer. While submitting your return, this form is to be attached with the return copy. So if you are filing a nil return of income, Form 16A is required as a proof of salary.
