Company Annual Day Celebration - kind of activities or events to be included?

Hi Everyone! We are celebrating Annual Day this year. Please give your valuable suggestions for the kind of activities or events to be included in the annual day celebration to motivate employees. We have a strength of 250 people.

Hi,

You may form an Annual Day celebration planning committee consisting of HR and one member from each department. Give free rein to the committee on how to plan and execute the events. The Committee may invite interested employees to showcase their personal talents such as dance, mimicry, singing, etc.

In addition to the above, you can suggest that committee members plan some fun games with prizes. During the Annual Day celebrations, you may recognize employees for:

- Best performance
- Punctuality by being present in the office every day
- Awards for taking fewer leaves
- Employees who have completed 5/10/15/20 years (number of years as per your choice)

Conclude the celebrations with a dinner and express gratitude to all employees for their support extended.

All employees should cherish the memory of the Annual Day celebration. Keeping this in mind, you may chalk out programs. In the earlier posts, recognition of employees (by giving awards and appreciation letters) based on:

1) best performer of the year

2) best attendance

3) Long service awards

could be made. Do you have a suggestion scheme and a suggestion committee? In the celebration, you could also give an award to employees who have made the best suggestion. Announce a welfare measure to employees. This will definitely yield rich dividends from staff to the company. Organize a very nice dinner for all. Ensure that female employees are dropped off in a company vehicle to their respective residences. Depending on the budget, you may initiate further programs.

Hi Jmanis,

Cultural competitions are conducted to exhibit the hidden talents of the employees. I have referred to signing and dancing as examples. It could be anything - a team of employees may perform a drama, skit, mime, magic show, etc. The role of HR is to keep the employees entertained, engaged, involved, and proud to be part of the organization. It all depends on the employer's budget for the annual day celebration. Depending on the budget, you may even invite film or TV celebrities, which would make the event more joyful.

I am new to the field and have been appointed as a third-party HR. I am supposed to plan an annual day that is happening for the first time. It is a jewelry background company, and I am supposed to handle the entire event. (I am the only HR here.) Please help me with ideas to make it memorable.
