PAN is not verified in Pf account its showing error so if i withdraw my pf amount will TDS get deducted?

shwetagoal@gmail.com
Hello, I want to withdraw my PF amount. I have worked for 1 year and 6 months. My PF amount is as follows:
EPF - 38781
EPS - 20474
However, my PAN is not verified in the PF account; it's showing an error. So, if I withdraw my PF amount, will TDS get deducted? Because my EPF & EPS amounts, if added, will exceed 50000.

Kindly help me with this.
If TDS gets deducted, what should I do next?

Please submit a self-attested copy of your PAN card and Form 15G to the PF office where your account is being held, mentioning your UAN, after submitting withdrawal claims online.

Hi,

Please go through the below-mentioned solutions:

Login to incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in to check if your details in the profile match with those as per your Aadhar. If not, you may request the necessary corrections. Upon updating the same, ask your employer to manually verify your PAN if it is not automatically verified in your UAN Portal.

While applying for a claim, you have the option to upload Form 15-G. Scan the duly filled and signed copy of the form and add a self-attested copy of PAN & Aadhar in the same PDF file and upload it.

Also, for safety, submit a copy of Form 15G along with self-attested copies of PAN and Aadhar as suggested by Mr. Rajveera. Don't forget to take an acknowledgment receipt for the same.

If you file ITR, you may claim the deductions.

Hi Rajveera & Vishakha,

Thank you for the reply.

Vishakha, I have checked my name through this link before, but the name is mismatched on incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in. So, I asked for corrections, and they replied to visit the income tax office.

If I submit a self-attested PAN and 15G form to the PF office, will my TDS not get deducted? I also have one more doubt - Should the EPF amount not exceed 50,000, or should EPF + EPS equal the total amount not exceeding 50,000 for TDS deduction?

Kindly help me with this.

Thanks in advance.

TDS is applicable only if your PF accumulation exceeds Rs. 50,000, the service being less than 5 years (or 3 years, I am not sure), including employer contribution.

Hi,

It is advisable to opt for necessary corrections, as it takes approximately 7 days for the details to reflect in the Income Tax Portal. It's the overall withdrawal amount that is considered for TDS applicability.

Hi Vishakha,

I have tried making corrections through incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in, but they are asking for the PAN card acknowledgment number for making corrections. However, I don't have the PAN acknowledgment number. Could you please tell me how to obtain the PAN card acknowledgment number using the PAN number?

If I visit the income tax department for corrections, what documents do I need to submit for the necessary corrections?

Thanks in advance.
