UAN name and Aadhar mismatch - current company wants the correction urgently otherwise not paying salary

ilaya-raja1
Hello,

My UAN Name is A. ILAYARAJA as per Aadhar ILAYARAJA. Now, I am joining a new company, and my new employer is telling me that there is a mismatch between my UAN name and Aadhar details. I have contacted my previous company's HR department, and they have changed my name in the UAN to match my Aadhar details, but the digital key is not working due to Java problems. I have been facing this issue for over a month now, and my current company is requesting the correction urgently, or they will not process my salary. However, my previous company has not been able to solve this problem.

Please advise me on how to handle this situation. If there is any alternative idea or solution, such as obtaining a new UAN or any other method, please let me know.

Thank you.

For UAN activated members, there should not be any problem with regard to the generation of ECR or payment of contribution. However, for a new member, you cannot even generate the UAN if the name differs. You need not wait for the previous employer's digital signature or approval. You may log in to your member portal using your UAN as the username and password. If you have not yet activated your UAN, there is an option for activating the UAN in the EPF Member Portal. Once you activate and log in, go to the Member Basic details field and change the name as per Aadhaar.

If your name as per the school certificate is Ilayaraja A, then it is better to correct the Aadhaar first and then correct the PF basic details. Aadhaar details can be corrected at facilitation centers. While doing that, please check whether the full date of birth is available in the Aadhaar. Mostly, only the year of birth will be available in it. If so, make that change. You may also include your personal mobile number in it. It will be useful when you apply for transferring the old PF amount to a new account.

Dear Sir,

Greetings for the day,

If you want to go offline and make the corrections, a joint declaration by the employee and employer needs to be filled up and submitted to the EPFO with relevant documentary evidence.

Thanks & Regards,

From,

Hi sir,

If you want to go offline and make corrections, a joint declaration form is available for download on the internet. Fill in the details of what you want to correct, obtain an authorized signature from your employer, and submit it at the EPFO office along with any two pieces of evidence like SSC certificate/PAN card/driving license, etc. Your issue will be resolved within two weeks.
