Should I add the less than 5 months experience to my resume?

I worked for less than 5 months as a Software Developer for a company. However, I left because I could no longer bear the unhealthy work culture, as it was affecting my health. I informed them and initially took a few days of leave, but it ended up extending to 2-3 days, and eventually, I informed them that I would be leaving. They accepted my decision. However, after a few days, they did not provide my salary and claimed that I was absconding.

My question is, should I include this work experience in my resume? The company I am applying to may have a greater chance of selecting me if I mention this experience. What are your thoughts? Do the pros outweigh the cons, or is it the other way around?

At a glance, it's better not to mention this experience to your new employer as they can easily find out the true state of affairs from your previous employer.

On the other hand, you can also contact your previous employer and inquire whether the held-back salary can be considered to compensate for the notice period shortfall. This could ensure that your relieving letter is issued on a positive note. If their concern is that you absconded, you can request them to conduct an inquiry. During this inquiry, they must provide evidence of sending hard copies of letters to your residence and the dismissal letter post the inquiry discussion, which may have been conducted in your absence or ex-parte. Until these formalities are completed, they cannot claim you absconded but can only state that your notice period was not fulfilled. At this point, they would need to discuss with you either completing the notice period or compensating them accordingly.

Such insightful feedback. Thank you very much. I am still figuring out what to do. I hope I will not mention that on my resume.
