Updates on Minimum Pension Increase under EPF & MP Act 1952

Of late, news has appeared in newspapers that EPFO is going to increase the minimum pension from Rs. 1000/- to Rs. 2000/- (and to Rs. 3000/- also as the Prime Minister has announced a minimum pension for personnel working in the unorganized sector). Can anybody shed some light on the above development?

There are many news, but only a handful get converted into gazette notifications. Therefore, let the modifications be approved by the cabinet and published in the Gazette of India. Then, we can be in a position to discuss.
