Can Private Company terminate you if the place you are working has less work to do

I am working in a private sector company whose name is Matchpoint GPS PVT. LTD. My task is basically to install GPS tracker device in new vehicles purchased in installments from HDFC Bank. I have been working for 11 months, and my probation period is over. I have received a confirmation letter. I am appointed in Sikkim, which is a small state, so I get few cases to handle. However, if I make some minor mistakes, my manager threatens to terminate my employment because there are fewer cases for me to work on.

So, my question is: can my company terminate my employment if I make some minor mistakes and there are fewer cases for me to handle?

Hi,

Regardless of the amount of work or errors in the work, if an employer wants to part ways (terminate) with an employee, they can do so by providing one month's notice or the notice period as specified in the terms and conditions of the employment contract signed by the employee with the employer.

The general principle is that in case of less work, the junior-most need to go, but it should be a benign action. However, if the employee is terminated, the due process of inquiry and giving the employee the opportunity to state his case cannot be dispensed with. Mere notice for the specified period is inadequate.

In private concerns, it is very much possible that an employee can be terminated. It is the terms of service and agreement between employer and employee that set the criteria and the grounds for termination. If the employee is not satisfied with the reason for termination, he has the right to ask for justification for the same. However, it is always better to part ways amicably and get the full and final settlement done appropriately. Most companies usually ensure that the process of termination and exit is smooth. I would suggest checking your service terms and acting accordingly.
