The study of attrition needs to encompass all the categories of employees right from reportees to CEO down to unskilled worker as well as across all industry segments. While there are several contributing factors, the most prominent reason of attrition in India is 'money'- better remuneration- which is main driver to satisfy basic needs. The other needs in Maslow's hierarchy like safety, self esteem and status do play decisive role in job attrition.
