Office Relocation Dilemma: Can Employees Refuse and Should Salaries Adjust for Cost of Living?

Harikrishna.Lavu
I would like to know what benefits should be provided by the employer when relocating their office within the same country. Can employees refuse to relocate? Should the employer adjust salaries where the cost of living is higher compared to the present location?

Please provide me with the conditions and detailed information on this.

While joining, your employees must have signed certain terms and conditions of the job. If a transfer was a condition, then the employee cannot refuse the same.

Normally, companies provide relocation expenses to their employees when they are transferred for company business. Allowances could range from transportation charges for vehicles, luggage, personal effects to airfare/AC travel, etc., depending on the status and appointment held.

Allowances like House Rent Allowance (HRA), City Compensatory Allowance (CCA) would be given as per the company's policy.
