Worker unable to claim ESIC medical treatment bill - Chief Medical Commissioner, ESIC office

Nandhini Ananth
I am working as an HR Executive in a Textile Factory in Karur, Tamil Nadu. In my factory, a worker is facing an issue; he cannot claim his ESIC medical treatment bill. Many times, we have contacted our local dispensary in Karur and the Chennai office as well. However, there has been no response from them; they only say, "we will do it." This has been ongoing for the past two years.

Two months ago, I sent a letter (on company letterhead) to the Chief Medical Commissioner at the ESIC office in Chennai (with a copy to the Karur office) via registered post. Unfortunately, we have not received any response to this either. Please advise me on what steps I can take now to assist this worker in need (the bill amount is Rs. 80,000).

Dear Nandhini,

Original medical bills for reimbursement have to be submitted to the respective Dispensary of the insured person. The Dispensary will issue an acknowledgment with a reference number. The insured person can check the status of their claim by logging into the ESI IP Portal. Have you followed this procedure? If you have an acknowledgment/proof, you can also raise your grievance online by logging into the ESI Portal.

Dear Ram sir,

Thank you for your concern. Yes, I have the acknowledgment and CMR code as well. However, I didn't submit the grievance online by logging into the ESI Portal. I will do it soon.

Thank you, sir.
