Removing fake experience when joining new organisation - Background verification

aj-s
I joined a contractor-type employment service by falsely claiming 2.10 years of experience. Currently, I have completed 4 years in my current organization and have received an offer letter for a permanent position in a prestigious company. I have only represented 4 years of experience in my application, and they have agreed to my joining based on the notice period. However, during the background verification process, I am being asked to explain a nearly 3-year gap in my employment history. I have accounted for this gap by mentioning the time dedicated to exams and preparations (such as GATE and IES) and a failed venture I undertook.

I am concerned about whether the new organization will discover my falsified experience of 2.10 years during the background verification. Will the contracting company provide information about my previous experience?

Hi,

The background verification team cannot ask your current HR to share details of your first company as that is irrelevant. Your HR is not so idle to take time out to search your first company details and verify your date of joining/relieving. BGV team can only verify your current employment details. So, chill.

I hope you have removed the 2.10 years of experience details from your resume and LinkedIn. Also, do not mention the same when filling out the joining kit. The BGV team cannot come to know about it. Even if somehow they come to know about it, your simple answer should be that you left the organization as it was shutting down and they did not provide any employment proof.

Thanks and Regards, Akash Sharma
