Can i resign from current central government without any intimation to the department?

I am working as a junior engineer in the Military Engineer Service. I have applied for the assistant engineer post in Arunachal Pradesh and have been selected. The problem is, I had not applied for a No Objection Certificate (NOC), and if I inform the department, it will be a lengthy process. Also, my current boss is not so cooperative. I am in a big dilemma about whether to inform the department or leave without informing anybody. My joining date is nearing day by day. Please help me, sir/madam/learned member.

This post should have been put up much earlier before you applied for another job while being in government service. A No Objection Certificate (NOC) is mandatory for such applications. What did you write in the application for the current job in Arunachal Pradesh? Surely, you must have concealed your earlier continuing employment in MES. You should discreetly inquire from your administrative officer to find out the procedure for exiting from MES.

Running away or abandoning a government job and moving to another government job has its own dangers. Your previous employment and abandonment thereof will be discovered. This is a decision that you have to make.

Thank you for the reply. I found this site three days ago. I was on a probationary period when I was applying for the post, but now the result is declared after one and a half years after the completion of my probationary period. Is there any other way so that I can resign from my current job? Sir, I am really in great trouble. Can I apply for NOC now, or will a simple resignation letter to the boss do the purpose? Please guide me.
