EPF number - is it state wise or Centralised number?

The company has its head office in Mumbai and also has a lot of branches all over India. In the EPF system, how should employees obtain their EPF number? Is it a state-wise EPF number or a centralized number for all employees?

Only the head office should obtain an EPF code number, and all payments should be made using the head office code number. However, for identification purposes, you may apply for a sub-code number for all branches.
