During the period of 'on the job training' they are involved in direct production activities. In deed they have a defined curricula in which the entire training period is distributed. This could be obtained from the office of Regional Apprenticeship Advisor. Earlier stress on theoretical/ class room training has been considerably reduced and now the emphasis is on practical training.
While involving in direct production activities, note that the emphasis is on 'training' them in those trades but not employing them for regular work.
