You are obviously not meeting the requirement.That apart, there is no other legal shortcoming on your part. The management, probably looking at your 'people skills' has thought of giving you additional responsibility of HR function. HR offers unlimited scope for career growth and development of personality. You are not professionally qualified may be an initial handicap, but if you have a competent team to help and advise, you will be able to manage. As you gain experience and knowledge, you will develop the required competencies and will be able to discharge your duties more professionally.
