Epf online transfer from one company to another - Exit process is must?

Hi, i am an hr personnel. Want to know how to transfer EPF from one company to another?
1) role of previous company and 2) role of current company.
Exit process is must for previous company for online transfer?

simply login in unified portal member portal , at the right top you will find the transfer claim option
fill the details and select present employer for verification, once submitted, take a print and submit to present employer with your signature, they will verify it with DSC and epfo will take the claim under process
