Project in performance appraisal - key areas I should cover?

I have pursued my MBA 1st year. I am doing internship by focussing on the topic 'Performance appraisal". Can you please tell me what are the key areas I should cover under this? it would be of a great help to me. Please send any suggestions at the earliest.

hi Durga,
Performance Appraisal basically correlate with KRA and Job Description (JD), its just a performance checking of an employee according to their KRA and JD. from which employer can decide promotion, training need identification, salary increment.
