Dear Sir,
I am currently working at a company where I made an agreement for 1.5 years, and I have already worked for almost 2 and a half years in this company.
Upon joining, they retained my two original certificates which were to be returned to me after my contract ended. However, I was unable to retrieve these certificates as I was transferred to another branch of the same company.
I have secured a new job with a start date of January 16, 2017. Consequently, I submitted my resignation via email to my current company, providing a 15-day notice period.
Although my offer letter states a 2-month notice period, I requested a 5-day extension. Despite this, the company insists that I comply with the 2-month notice period as per the offer letter.
Upon completion of the initial 15-day notice period, I sent a farewell email to my employer. In response, I received the following message:
"What is this, and why is he sending this email if he has not completed the notice period? Talk to my lawyer after that, mail me."
I am concerned about the situation as my original certificates remain with the company. I seek your guidance on this matter.
Kindly advise on how to proceed.
