How To Thank Ex-Employees For Their Patience In Delay Of FNF

Dear HR Professionals, I need to write an email to our ex-employees thanking them for keeping their patience for the delay in FnF. Also, to thank them they supported and kept patience in company's difficulty times.
Please suggest an email format.

One must be very circumspect when admitting delays on paper,regardless of circumstances.
Probably a simple email confirming that FnF has been completed vide left/cheque/DD no: for Rs--- has now been initiated.Kindly confirm receipt.
