I have read all threads but was confused to decide salary break up for an employee. Please help me to decide the salary break up for the following salary range. Our office is located at Masjid Bunder, Mumbai, and our other offices are also in Mumbai only. So, it comes under which zone to decide the minimum wages accurate rates?

1. Salary Rs. 7000/-
2. Salary Rs. 11400/- per month (breakup considering minimum wages)
3. Salary above Rs. 45000/- (considering maximum tax benefit should be given to the employee)

We have the following salary breakup format:
- BASIC + D.A.
- HRA
- CONVEYANCE ALLOWANCE
- MEDICAL ALLOWANCE
- SPECIAL ALLOWANCE

Please help me, Sr., as I am new in HR, and within two days, I have to provide salary slips to all employees.

Please, Sr., help me by giving an answer. It's urgent.

We don't have PF, ESIC, gratuity, etc. My management wants the maximum tax benefit to be given to employees through these structures, but it should not harm the company either.

Thank you for your response, sir.

I visited the paycheck website, but I noticed that the minimum wages are specified zone-wise. This has left me confused about which zone we fall under.

Basic + D.A. Rs. 8,500
HRA Rs. 1,500
Conveyance Allowance Rs. 0
Medical Allowance Rs. 0
Special Allowance Rs. 0
Variable Allowance Rs. 0
Other Allowances Rs. 0
Arrears Rs. 0
Total: 10,000

I have done this breakup as I read that the basic + DA should be equal to or more than the minimum wages. Is this so? So, according to this, is my breakup okay for the above salary range?

Hi everyone, I need your help with the salary breakup for a low CTC of up to 15000 per month. Please provide me with the salary breakup for 15k/month as per any new compliance. Currently, I'm working at Samsung Electronics India Pvt Ltd in the telecom sector on a 4G project, serving as a junior engineer.

Please do the needful.

Dear Tejas,

As per my understanding, it should be:
Basic+DA: 8500
HRA: 4250
Conveyance Allowance: 1600
Medical Allowance: 650
Gross: 15000

Generally, companies calculate basic as 50% of the gross. However, as I read on this site, the basic+DA should not be less than the minimum wages of the state in which the company operates.

Dear seniors, please correct me if I am wrong.

Thank you!
