CXOs in India are being paid up to 60 Lacs per month. Is such an extravagant pay package justifiable? Please share your thoughts!

I am just curious about how the pay packet is decided and what parameters are taken into consideration. Also, if the person's capability and profile are directly proportional to the remuneration being offered.

A substantial pay package for a CEO can yield dividends and turn the company around if the individual succeeds; therefore, pay should not be a barrier for the right CEO.

The salary for CXOs in a startup is directly calculated from the growth it promises. Recently, an Ecom was looking for a product head at 50 Lacs PA. The growth promised to the investors is what the new role has to deliver.
