Understanding Pension Contributions: Who Pays and What Happens When You Leave a Job?

kailashinbox
Dear All,

In my EPF - UAN statement, there was a column called "PENSION CONTRIBUTION". Was that contribution made by the Employee or Employer? I am currently 32 years old and have worked for the company for about 5 years. As I am now leaving the company, will I receive the Pension Contribution at the time of settlement?

Thank you.

Dear Kailash,

8.33% would be the pension contribution paid from the employer's contribution. If your service is below 10 years, you will get a one-time withdrawal benefit from the pension fund now. Otherwise, you will get a pension for which you have to wait at least up to 50 years of age completion.
