How Many Foreign Employees Can Agro-Food Companies in Maharashtra Legally Hire?

Respected All, there are some industries already operating in the agro-based food manufacturing sector in Maharashtra, and they have employed several foreign employees (Expatriates) in various departments. My question pertains to the maximum number of foreign employees that can be deployed in each department. Is there a specific ratio that needs to be followed? Is there a limitation on the percentage of foreign employees in relation to the total number of Indian employees?

Please provide feedback at your earliest convenience.

It is not clear from which country the expats are being employed by you. However, while issuing an employment visa, the Indian embassy asks for some information from the company in India, such as how many Indians are working in the company, how many expats are working, etc., to arrive at a decision.

I have worked with Hyundai, a Korean company, and have found that the Indian Embassy in Korea had restricted the number of employment visas to 1 per 100 Indians employed. So they gave a maximum of 10 visas to Koreans, as we had declared 1,000 Indians being employed by us. Apart from this, we need to give a declaration to the effect that the competence/expertise possessed by these expats is not easily available in India.

Thank you for your feedback. We are an MNC company based in Thailand. Could you please provide information on any specific parameters for Thai employees in relation to the number of Indian employees we have?

Thanks & Regards,
