Statutory means something that is “established , authorized, or fixed by a law or statute”, hence the benefit schemes that employers offer, are done in the interest of well-being of their employees, and will include statutory as well as discretionary benefits. They can be some benefits borne by the employers also known as "employer paid benefits". For eg: EPF, Gratuity, Medical schemes, Dearness Allowance, etc
