Managing Attendance Registers in a Plant: Compliance with Factory Act and Labor Laws

As per the Factories Act or any other relevant legislation, are there any restrictions on the number of attendance registers that need to be maintained in a plant? For the convenience of the employees, would it be acceptable to keep two attendance registers, one for each section in the plant, in compliance with the Factory Act or any other applicable laws?

No problem in your practice. No central Act prescribes attendance registers. The CL(RA) Act, Maternity Benefit Act, Minimum Wages Act, Factories Act, Labor Laws Exemption Act, and ID Act (indirectly) prescribe Muster Roll. The format of these is available in the state rules under the above Acts.
