Is There Anyway To Select The Employee Of The Month Across Different SBUs In The Same Organization

Is there anyway to select the employee of the month across different SBUs in the same organization, I know the obvious answer may be choose one from each SBU. But is there any organization doing it the other way and what could be the criteria to compare the accomplishments across spheres ?
