Recruiters, How Do You Find Candidates Beyond Job Portals? Let's Share Strategies

I am a Recruiter. Most often in interviews, I get questions like:

1. What are the other sources for recruitments?
2. Where can you find candidates who are not registered to job portals?

Has anyone had a similar experience? Please share your experiences or advise me on how to handle these questions.

Dear Senthil Kumar.G,

Most recruiters depend on job portals. However, in this competitive world, the following strategy works well:

1. Make good contacts with all the industries in your concerned area. I have practical experience that most often, I also refer candidates (referred by our employees and dear ones for whom we have no vacancies) to the recruiters.

2. Regularly advertise in the local network.

3. If possible, make contacts and build good relations with other recruiters in your area. Help each other.

4. Have regular interaction with the ITIs/Colleges to place their candidates at no cost. At least, you will create your image in the institutions and the industry. In the long run, it will pay off.

Note: Have full knowledge about the nature of the industry in which you intend to provide manpower. Before providing any candidate, please verify the credentials of the candidates. Good candidates build the image of the recruiters and bring business repeatedly.

Regular follow-up with the candidates and the industry is required.

With Best Regards
