Navigating Salary Slip Issues When Joining a New Company

poonam8912
Hi friends,

I was on a probation period for 3 months. My salary was Rs. 16,000. I left the job for further study. Now my study is completed and I am about to get a job in a new company. However, my previous company hadn't issued me a salary slip; they paid me in cash. Do I need a salary slip for joining the new company?

I am worried. Please provide me with suggestions and an immediate response to this problem. I have attached the appointment letter with this message.

Thank you.

Hi Poonam,

Firstly, I would like to understand if you have a proper relieving letter from your previous employer. If yes, you can always ask them to provide you with a salary certificate, which meets your requirements. Even if you do not have a proper relieving letter, you can try checking with them.

Otherwise, you can inform your future employer that you couldn't submit the payslip as they do not issue payslips, and I am sure they would take that into consideration.

Also, you missed mentioning your tenure with the previous employer. If you have only served for a very short period, most companies do not consider your past employment.

For any further queries, you can reach me at the contact details below.

Thanks & Regards,
