i want to about what exactly wages and salary administration means and what are the topics that it will cover and what is the importance of it in our daily life.
I m a HR & admin exceutive in one of the construction company and i want to know by what type it will help me

Hi Anuja,
Wages and salary administration means checking whether each labour/employee is checking whether each one is getting his salary on time, is everyone getting exact salary, checking the adjustments that you have to make, the contributions that you have to make from both employee and employer wrt ESI, PF, etc.
In construction company it also depends whether you have contractual employees or permanent ones.
Can you please be specific on what exact problem you are facing as "salary and wage administration" is a very huge concept.

Refer payment of wages act because all deductions and types of payments (trainees, contract) and dates to make payment of salary/wages etc are based on payment of wages act.
Earnings are basic+da, allowances, make gross and then deductions as per payment of wages act=net pay.
Yes, Minimum wages act also read is about revision of wages every half yearly
as per type of occupation like security guard and wages for security supervisor, etc.
Leaves availed to maitain so Leave Without Pay also make.
( Factory act/ shops and establishment act for PL/Annual leaves/Earned leaves 21/20).

Dear Anuja: Wage and salary administration includes preparation of wage roll as per wage period (daily/weekly/monthly etc) and salary statement every month while ensuring comliance of the statutes like Payment of Wages Act, Minimum Wages Act, and making remittance accordingly. It would also include assessment of personnel cost to the company. Wage & Salary Adminstration is an essential part of the HR function in any organised set up and due care has to be taken to see to it that the employees are paid their due and the statutory compliances are ensured. Any short coming in this regard could be disastrous both from the organisational point of view and statutory compliances.
