ESI Transfer Procedure and Form 53 Submission Guidelines

Please guide me. An employee has joined our organization. He had an ESI Card in his previous organisation. Could you please let me know the procedure to continue using the same card/insurance number in our organization? Also, what forms are required?

No procedure, only you have to remit the contribution of "That" employee to his ESI number.

He has to fill out a declaration form indicating his Insurance number in the form and submit it to your Local office to make necessary amendments to the ESI card for a change in employment. Additionally, he needs to transfer his records from the previous Local ESI office to your current Local ESI office.

Hi Prasad,

There is a process in place. The employee must fill out Form 53. In this form, you have to specify the changes under "Other changes": you should mention the Employer change (your employer code) and then submit it to your particular ESI Branch office.

Kindly explain the procedure for transferring an employee's account from the company. What supporting documents need to be submitted along with Form 53?
