Do IT and manufacturing companies in India provide "hardship allowance" to their employees who are working in remote locations?

Please explain what you mean by remote locations.
Is the place of posting temporary or permanent in nature?
Are amenities like schools, housing, and hospitals available?

Hardship allowance is generally not given as it becomes taxable. Instead, companies address issues like housing and buses for children for schooling. If you further clarify the above questions, my colleagues here can provide more information.

My question is exactly matching with the subject, but different sector and different segment of employees who are getting hardship allowances. Few drivers who are dedicated to top management, staying within office premises, are getting paid hardship allowance for being continuously available on call. What term should be appropriate?

Another allowance is paid to employees who have their laptop, and who deserve a laptop from the organization will receive a fixed allowance for using their own data card and laptop. Please advise the right term for these allowances.
