Dear HR colleagues!!
I have two queries:
What exactly is an " Assessment Centre"....Is this anyhow related to the performance management system / competency mapping ?
Which is the best appraisal system to be practised in an industry : 180 degree performance appraisal or 360 degree appraisal ?

The assessment centre is the one method of human resource selection process. It includes many kinds of operating methods like evaluation presentation skill, teamworking skill etc.

I agree with Ron. Assessment Centers are a popular method of recruiting in large companies because the recruiter explores many aspects of the candidates. I think Assessment Centers also go as “Selection Centers”. Most Companies have their very own Tailor made activities as per the company requirements to assess the prospective candidates. Their individual capabilities, team working ability, problem solving & initiating skills etc can be thoroughly analyzed through assessment centers.
