Final Project Report - Retention Of Employees

samdee
Hi everyone!

I'm a student of MBA 3rd semester. I have taken HR as a major and Marketing as minor subjects. Well, it's time for me to choose a topic for the final research project, and I'm thinking of selecting "Retention of Employees" as my topic. It is still not decided as I have to consult my project head. However, I need your suggestions on whether or not I should choose this topic and some help regarding this topic if I choose it. I am waiting for your replies.

Hi,

Great to know that you have chosen HR as your major, and the topic of retention of employees is a really good one because it focuses on the current burning issue of retaining employees and reducing attrition levels. In fact, I did a similar project where I focused on the BPO sector and drafted my report. Probably, you should read the book "Turn the Tide on Retention." I am sure it would help.

All the best!

Hi friend,

Well, thank you for the suggestion, but I don't want to pick up BPO, particularly since retention is a problem in every industry. I was thinking to find out what exactly an employee wants, etc., related to my topic. What do you say?

Cheers

Good Topical Topic

Though many suggestions you gather from your questionnaire/discussions may be organization-specific, your company can pick and implement what is applicable and what works! Other possible topics include work-life balance, improving productivity, building teams in organizations, improving employee referral effectiveness, and reducing recruitment costs, etc.

Hi Krish,

Thanks, friend, for those topics you have suggested. Seriously, that's a help since I have not yet finalized my topic for FRP. Thanks once again.

Take care. Cheers!

Topical means that the topic is of use to industries today - relevant in today's business environment.

Hi Samdee,

Attrition is a real concern for every industry, mainly IT & ITES. If you are working on a project about retention strategy, it will be advantageous for you in the future. However, you should approach your project sincerely, not copy-pasting content (CCP), as there is plenty of material available on the internet. In my opinion, the real value addition in an MBA program occurs during the project duration.

Best of luck,

Ajit

Hi Ajit,

Thank you for the suggestion. Definitely, I will work honestly. But what do you mean by CCP? Anyways, to your information, my HR teacher is also doing some research on retention itself. So, she will guide me throughout my project whenever I need. I understand that the more hard work, the better the future results. What do you say?

Hi Seema,

First of all, let me clarify your doubt. CCP stands for cut, copy, and paste from different sites, which is very frequently used as a means to complete projects by students. So, instead of relying on CCP, you should work hard on your project to add value to your knowledge. I had also completed a project on the same topic during my third semester. It was primarily focused on the BPO industry since attrition is a severe problem in BPOs. It was a valuable learning experience. If you need any help, feel free to ask me.

All the best.
