Dear All,
This is my first message to CiteHR.
Suppose a firm, engaged in construction business & having registered with ESIC & PF Offices, deploys sub-contractors ( unregistered ) to carry out some part of its work. In this case being a principal employer what are the responsibilities of that registered firm.
- As far as ESIC part is concerned all matters such as submitting ESIC Declaration Form No. 1, maintaining form 7, Accident Register, submitting periodic RC etc. is done, using company’s own ESIC Code no.
- But in case of PF as the contribution of the sub-contractors is not continuous i.e. out of 12 months the contractor may be deployed at site for first 3 months then after Non Contribution Period of 4 months again it got engaged for work. So such case how to provide absolute PF benefit to that contractor & it’s employees.
- For Both ESIC & PF formalities, principal employers code numbers are used.
