Dear All,

I am working in an organization as Manager of Human Resources, and we have decided to pursue CMMI certification. I have reviewed numerous CMMI documents and now I would like to understand if there are any prerequisites for CMMI certification. For example, whether the organization's size should be a certain number, or if the organization needs to be a private or public limited company, among other criteria.

Please provide me with your valuable insights so that we can progress with all necessary preparations. I am aware that we will need someone to assess our defined processes and practices. The assessing company will conduct a gap analysis of our processes, identifying areas for improvement.

I see the only prerequisite that is mandatory is management commitment to go for CMMi and a process-oriented approach. This implicitly means that the management is willing to provide necessary funding, time, and commitment for the CMMi implementation processes, as CMMi demands a lot of change management to be handled across the organization and commitment from each stakeholder in the organization.

So, if your management is ready for the above-said things, you are ready to go for CMMi.
